Overheard at my friend's house:
"Honey, didn't you say that Andi is used to eating healthy crap that looks and tastes bad so she'll eat this anyway?"

I just look 16.....
*Sigh* I think I am growing up. I mean it's great and all but sometimes it really hits me that I am an adult.
Like this weekend. Ben and I got all dressed up and went out for Valentine's Day. Normally when I get all dressed up and go out I feel like I am playing dress-up. Not this time. We went downtown to this restaurant on top of a hotel. It was nice in that you could see the city from up there, but I got the feeling that the restaurant may be going out of business soon; that our meal may be the last meal they serve. They didn't play music while we ate, the silk flower centerpieces looked like they were left over from someone's wedding in 1984, and they were surprisingly not busy at all. But, the view was great, the food tasted good and the company was wonderful, so it was a nice night. And I got to buy a new dress for it. (It was super on sale. $50 down from $160 - I love a good bargain.)
So to make up for feeling like an adult, I came home snuggled in my bed and ate chips while reading. I know you aren't supposed to eat in bed, it's really annoying to have roaches and mice in there, but I was tired and hungry so I really felt like I only had one option. Plus I only have 96 days left of complete bed ownership so I better enjoy it. I also started sleeping in my bed diagonally in order to take up as much of the bed as I can, while I still can.
It's those kinds of things that make me feel (and act) like less of an adult.

Today was another "adult" experience. I met some friends for breakfast. At 9:30 am! I can't sleep past 8:30 anymore. I'm THAT old.

Flip Flops and Snow
Generally winter in Ohio consists mostly of grey skys and cold weather. We normally get a couple of snow storms but between each storm the temperature warms up and melts all the snow. Not this time. It stayed cold (like below freezing) and now there is more snow coming. So what do we do when it stays cold and snowy? We throw summer parties, like the one I had on Saturday.
There were about 12 of us girls celebrating summer while it stayed nice and cold outside. We wore flip flops, drank smoothies and made pizzas. It was a blast. I had a lot of fun decorating for the party.
I hung up lights:
Put up pictures of the beach:
and put flowers around the apartment:
We listened to steel drum bands and enjoyed smoothies:
Everyone got creative and made their own pizzas too.
I got to catch up with several friends I hadn't seen in a while. What a great way to spend a cold, snowy weekend!

Conversation with my roommate this morning
"I lost more weight."
"In that case, we should eat lard cakes for dinner tonight."
"And then lay around going, ohhhh my stomach!"
"When my boyfriend comes over I want to have eaten so many lard cakes that my belly button is sticking out and I am sitting there with my finger in it."

Snowed In
I am officially snowed in. It started snowing around 1:00 and by 3:30 they were sending people home from work. My little Miata is ok in the snow, but not great. So I opted to ride home with my brother (who works for the same company) and spend the night at my parents. Good thing I packed that extra change of clothes, just in case!
We are supposed to get 4-6 inches of snow before midnight. Woo Hoo! I love me some snow. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of snow stuff here at my parents, but I bet I can find something to go play in...
A couple of years ago I would have just driven in this stuff, but one car wreck in the snow and a month of a banged up face makes me think that it just isn't worth it. Plus I really don't want my car in a ditch. So tonight I'll snuggle up with in front of the fire, drink some tea and hang out with my family. Not a bad night.

Three Things
1. When I woke up today it was 3 degrees outside. That is stinking cold.
2. We booked a photographer for the wedding. What a relief!!! I think they'll do a really good job.
3. I've been sick off and on and haven't felt like blogging. Sorry.
