My Best Foot Forward

I started my new job today.

It went really well.

Except for that part where I forgot to wear deodorant.

But in all seriousness, so far I am super impressed with the company. I'm glad I took the job!

Eye of the Beholder

It's so nice to have internet hooked up. How else would I be able to post pictures of the cows and the boats near our new place?

Moved!

The move went great! We had lots of help and loading and unloading the truck went quickly. I love our new apartment. We have a yard and a living room big enough to have people over. The only thing we don't have is a dishwasher. Oh and a garabage disposal, and a storage shed. Also no coat closet or a linen closet. But inspite of all of things things, it's a nicer apartment then our old place and I feel very blessed to be living here. Once we get our internet hooked up and I'm not chilling at the library, I'll post some pictures of our view. It is something else.

Yesterday I hit my limit on moving frusteration and I stomped around the house like some sulky teenager. I didn't have internet or clean clothes and I had had it! I also had asked Ben to hang up all his clothes while I unpacked the kitchen. I got even more frusterated when all he did was hang up the clothes hangers and order them by size and color. Idiot.

Turns out that in my mumbling and stomping around what I had communicated to Ben was to please, for goodness sake can't you see I am doing all the work around here, just hang up the hangers. Ben went the extra mile to organize them by size and color the whole time thinking he had married a ridiculously petty woman. And I was thinking that he was just wasting time while I did all the work.

Thankfully, we were both able to laugh over it about 8 hours later.

Thoughts. My last day in Ohio

We are moving tomorrow.

AHHHH!!!

It didn't seem real until I left my job.

This moving business is more work than I thought it would be.

I'm sure I forgot something.

I am scared and excited all at the same time.

I need a nap.

We won't have internet in Kentucky for a while, so this may be my last post until we can get that all worked out.

We are willing to teach anyone our key to good communication...

Me: Ben, you aren't listening to me.

Ben: I'm not listening to you because you are talking to yourself.

I have a JOB!

Everyone lets do a little happy dance....

God is so good to provide this job. He is making it incredibly easy for us to move to Kentucky. It's so relaxing to know we are heading in the direction that He has for us. It's also nice to have a break after all the rough spots we have been through in the last year. 2008 is off to a WONDERFUL start!

12 days until we move....

I've been trying for a while now, and the funny post is just not coming. My head is stuffed full of to do lists. While sleeping, relaxing and talking people my head is running through things like this:

1. Get electric at new place turned on

2. Find a job

3. Make dinner

4. Buy bubble wrap for packing

5. FIND A JOB

6. Hang out with people before we leave

7. Take home boxes

8. FIND A JOB ALREADY!

9. Get tarp to paint

10. Price out high speed internet. Must not live a day without it!

11. Sign up for COBRA

12. SERIOUSLY, STOP BUMMING AROUND AND GET A JOB THAT PROVIDES HEALTH COVERAGE.

13. Transfer title of car.

14. Give up on the job and live in a van down by the river.

In case you couldn't tell, I still don't have a job. I almost had one, but things didn't work out. I have a couple of prospects that I am excited about… so hopefully something will work out. I am sure that they will it's just going to take time.

My mind is so stuck in moving mode that I can't carry on a conversation. Take for example the other day when I friend asked me what I had been up to and I replied with "good".

I think I am so busy with moving stuff because I have never moved out of the state. I've moved once in my life before - from my parent's house to my current apartment. So I don't really know how all this works. Ben's attitude about the whole thing is very much laissez-faire, which is cool and all since the last time he moved out of state was to a dorm. One where they make sure everything is done for you. They have the electric and the phone all set-up and they EVEN COOK YOUR FOOD for you. So I think it's a little different.

We haven't been getting mail for the last 4 days because the helpful United States Post Office has been forwarded our mail to Kentucky already. So part of my day was spent clearing that all up. Sigh. That's what I get for planning ahead. Next time I'll just do it at the last minute.\

My mind was mush by the time I got home, but tonight it was warm and I got to take the Miata out for a spin. I have never driven a car that was more fun to drive. I love the car. It was a great end to a long day.
